Location: We are seeking a full-time Sous Chef III for the New England Aquarium in Boston, MA . The New England Aquarium is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ocean and marine animal conservation for over 50 years. It promotes global change through public engagement and education. Principal Function The Sous Chef III is an hourly position reporting to a senior Sous Chef or Executive Chef. It is the first supervisory level in a Sodexo Live! kitchen, performing functions requiring minimal to moderate complexity, experience, and expertise. The role involves ensuring food is prepared using fundamental techniques, seasoned for maximum flavor, and presented aesthetically. The Sous Chef III directs aspects of foodservice production and ensures compliance with food safety and sanitation standards. Under guidance, they supervise menu preparation, manage a shift or station in the hot or cold kitchen, or pastry shop, and assist in training and mentoring staff. Essential Responsibilities Supervise culinary department to ensure timely and consistent food preparation. Maintain Kitchen Safety and Sanitation standards according to Sodexo Live! and regulatory guidelines. Strive for 100% customer satisfaction through excellent service and leadership. Qualifications/Skills Required: Minimum 2 years in food preparation roles. Ability to promote teamwork. Good understanding of written and spoken instructions. Preferred: Postsecondary culinary arts degree. ACF Professional Certification. Other Requirements Ability to work safely in wet, hot, noisy environments; lift up to 50 pounds; navigate tight spaces.
