This position is responsible for analyzing operational performance, identifying trends and delivering actionable insights that enhance business outcomes. The Employee Benefits (EB) Operations Performance Analytics Team is seeking an Analyst to support operational analytics across the EB Operations portfolio. As a member of this team, the individual will own the measurement and monitoring of key processes, identify root causes of performance variation and drive continuous improvement within the supported organizations. The role requires strong communication and relationship building skills as it interacts with a wide variety of Hartford teammates at all levels. The analyst will partner with key Business, Strategy, Enterprise Data Services and Data Science stakeholders to identify and prioritize opportunities to optimize EB Operations processes. Responsibilities Conduct diagnostic analytics, including but not limited to correlation, regression and trend analysis using both leading & lagging indicators to identify root causes and improvement opportunities across key performance indicators. Define meaningful performance and process metrics grounded in a strong understanding of business goals and end-to-end workflows. Build analytical frameworks by creating and enhancing datasets, developing tools and automating processes to streamline analysis and improve delivery speed and depth. Track organizational performance and provide timely insights to business partners through data analysis and visualization. Synthesize and translate analytical results into compelling narratives and actionable recommendations to business leadership. Build strong, collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders and business leaders by consistently delivering actionable insights and evolving analytical capabilities that align with business objectives and adapt to emerging needs. Experience & Skills Problem-Solving: Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills to test hypotheses that address complex business challenges. Analytical Skills: Applies foundational, statistical concepts to interpret performance data and identify trends; demonstrates curiosity in exploring data relationships. Technical Skills: Comfortable working with operational and transactional datasets; able to resolve basic data issues and support data storytelling. Experience leveraging Gen AI tools to accelerate insight generation preferred. SQL experience preferred; Tableau, ThoughtSpot, and/or Snowflake experience a plus but not required. Communication: Excellent communication skills to present data insights clearly and effectively to varying levels of stakeholders. Innovation: Demonstrates curiosity and creative thinking with a willingness to challenge norms and explore unconventional solutions. Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to cross-functional projects. Adaptability: Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies, platforms and methodologies to solve business problems. Domain Knowledge: Employee Benefits and/or Operations experience is a plus. This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office (Columbus, OH, Chicago, IL, Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position. Compensation The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
